Our vision is all about God's mission. God's mission is two things: love Him and love people. This is also known as the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. The great commandment, ‘to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and strength and love your neighbour as yourself’ (Matt 22:36-40); and the great commission, to go into the world and ‘make disciples of all nations’ (Matt 28:16-20).
This is what our vision is about. Loving God, and loving people by bringing them the gospel of Jesus, in word and deed.
We see a growing family of churches made up of passionate disciples of Jesus who live to carry His presence and power into every part of society.
Together, this family of churches exists to influence communities, transform cities, and impact nations through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our core values are what we are all about. They are not just what and how we do the vision and mission; they are a part of us. We often refer to our core values as our ‘Strategic Objectives’ because all we do is connected to these kingdom values.
SPIRIT-POWERED
We are a people who actively pursue God’s presence. Everything we do flows from the empowerment and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our gatherings, decisions, and daily lives are centred around experiencing and following His presence, trusting that where the Spirit leads, rest and transformation follow.
Exodus 33:14 – “And He said, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’”
FORMATION-FOCUSED
We are committed to continual growth and transformation into the likeness of Christ. Discipleship at Empower is not a program but a way of life. We encourage a journey of renewing the mind and being transformed through God's Word, community, and personal accountability. We desire for people to walk in the freedom that Christ has made available to us.
Romans 12:2 – “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Galations 5:1 -It is for freedom that Christ set us free
MISSION-FIXATED
We are a mission-driven church that exists to see the Great Commission fulfilled. Every believer is empowered to live on mission, taking the gospel into their everyday lives and to the ends of the earth. We are called to make disciples, baptise, and teach others to follow Jesus.
Matthew 28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
CONNECT-DRIVEN
At Empower, we believe in the strength of community and the power of relationships. We are more than just a gathering—we are a family that supports and grows together. We foster deep, authentic relationships that reflect the love and unity of the early church, where everyone belongs, and no one stands alone.
Acts 2:44-47 – “Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”
